Maybe Not

Update: Hitting another rough patch with development. Well, more like a prolonged rough patch. Things simply don't go as smoothly as you'd hope for. What makes it worse is so much of it could be rectified just be eschewing the "I'll do it tomorrow" mentality. I suppose this much is to be expected when a group of people band together over the internet and have nothing to gain from their time and effort, especially considering the scope of this project. All this of course applies to me as well.
Also, I'll be redoing the Deku Scrub and Saria scene. I just could not get it to the point where I was satisfied no matter how much time I spent on it.

Looks like Saria is the winner. I'll couple her with the deku scrub since that's been requested several times before. If you have any ideas you'd like to see in the scene, feel free to share them.
On a side note, the next working dayafter I said I cut down on my hours, I ended up working overtime. My boss might not let me get out of there as easily as I had thought.

  1. Ideas? Uhhh... forced kissing and forcefeeding of deku nuts, since it's a deku scrub and they use their mouth for that kinda thing. Or stuffing one of her other holes with nuts? I dunno... female deku scrub kinda seems difficult...

    1. Yeah its kind of tricky finding a good setup for this one. I also had a similar idea and I think I have a setup that could incorporate a bit of what you suggested, if all goes well.

  2. Seems like a good idea. Would like to know if the VN will be free when it is released?

  4. Was excited to see the art that was up before! Next time I'd suggest leaving it up until you have a replacement ready, even if you decide you're not satisfied with it. We know work on projects like this is tough, but we really just want to see previews of what's new, even if it's not perfect yet.

    1. I might try to keep working on that older sketch since I still want to do that deku nut thing, but if I can't get it right I'll have to try a different approach. For the time being I'm not sure when I'll start working on this scene again though, and I didn't want to leave that sketch up if I was going to end up with something else.

I'm beginning to feel like I'm deceiving people in a way. Nothing has been happening that actually moves the VN (namely the build itself) forward. Sometimes I think it is, but it isn't. I've just been working on content and turning the blog into an image gallery trying to keep things interesting. Thing is, what good is content if it isn't, or doesn't get used? I keep getting promises; "I'll work later", "I'll be on later", "I'll be back later", yet they almost always fall through. Everyone is great, I like them and I want to have faith that we can see this through, but it is really hard to keep believing when nothing happens for so long, promises go unfulfilled, and people either drop by every blue moon or stop showing up altogether. I can provide content for the art, script, ui, etc, but no matter how much I want to, I do not have the time, nor the ability, to do absolutely everything on my own.
Sorry, I know this is more than you bargained for with your comment, just wanted to get that off my chest and shed some light on our situation.

    2. Oh shit. This is almost exactly what the Paper Mario guys said before they axed it.
I dunno. I like the idea and what I've seen so far, but if you're working yourself up to the point of it affecting life, don't be a hero.
      I hope youre doing okay

    3. Its an unfortunate reality with projects like this. A group of guys meet by chance over the internet and have a concept they want to bring to fruition. Interest is through the roof at first, but when work kicks in the motivation to see things through wanes. Worse yet there's nothing to be gained by finishing a project like this other than the satisfaction of doing so. As such, the level of activity steadily declines until there's nothing left. This project requires at least a small level of commitment and initiative, but its just not there. I hate to say it, but in most cases its not imposing on anyone's life, nor would I want it to. The level of work in almost all cases is also rather small (things as simple as a sketch, small portions of writing, proofreading, even just showing up in the chat, etc). Nevertheless there's just no drive to sit down and do it and there hasn't been for a very long time.

We aren't dead, but the chance of us recovering from this is not looking too good. The programmer may have come back a while ago, but unfortunately that really hasn't changed anything so far. We talk every once in a while and I am repeatedly assured that the build will be updated every time I bring up any concerns, but unfortunately those talks never seem to culminate into anything productive. And if you're reading this XV, I'm still looking forward to that post you said you'd make!

Even if worst comes to worst, I don't think I'll say the project is truly dead, because I don't think I'm going anywhere. Unless something in my life changes, or I feel like there's just absolutely no hope left, I'll keep the blog up, reply to comments and post any updates. I might not be actively working since I don't want to feel like its just wasted effort, but I can always try to improve the situation and with some luck get things moving again.

I know you probably didn't care to read all that, but I feel I feel better voicing it. Thank you for your comment and your concern, I appreciate it mate.

    4. Thank you for the indepth response. I don't blame you at all for any of this, btw. How were your holidays?

    5. I don't think anybody is truly to blame for this situation, though I do kind of have a bone to pick with those who've left without saying anything.

My holiday was relaxing. I just met with some family and had dinner together. Hope yours was enjoyable as well.

  5. I was going to make this joke a while ago, so...
You could almost say that he's *puts on sunglasses* busting a nut! XD

Using Deku Nuts in the sex scenes is a great idea, by the way! I could almost see them being used as anal beads.

  6. What was wrong with the previous sketch that you didn't like?

    1. Somehow missed these comments, sorry this is a bit a late.

I didn't really have any concerns with the sketch itself, it just didn't translate well into a lineart. The angle/perspective, the placement of the deku scrub, and something about Saria in general just didn't want to work. It seems people like it though so I'll try to work it out if I can.
