About ZVN

This is just a simple/rushed summary for now. If you have any questions, please refer to the F.A.Q or leave a comment below.

Our goal is to create a Zelda VN loosely based on Ocarina of Time. In this visual novel you will take control of Link and pursue one of the many heroines that appear throughout the series' history, while overcoming (or falling for) the traps and monsters that stand in your way.

The battles will mostly be scripted and will feature a partner system where you can team up with some of your favorite heroines. The enemies you will encounter will consist of both normal monsters and monster girls. Most monsters will have a monster girl equivalent, which is often times more difficult to come across and more powerful. Depending on the enemy, and how you approach a fight, Link can either defeat them normally or attack them sexually. Likewise, if Link does poorly a monster girl may set herself upon him, or if its a normal monster, his partner.
However, battles are only half of the game's focus. We're also including significant routes for some of the heroines. The partner system is there to allow you to take these heroines along with you on your adventure, and if you're skilled enough, grow closer to them.

  1. Not a question I just figured I would leave my support. I have this favorited and can't wait to play the game when it's finished.

  2. This is legit also. Will Malon be in this?

    1. Of course. She'll be the next partner we work on, after we wrap up the initial portion of the Kokiri Forest.

    1. Not at this time. Progress is consistent, but slow.
However, we are shooting to release a kokiri forest demo in the coming month or two.

  4. Now knowing that the novel is loosely based on Oot, will turing into adult link Affect your partners?I am asking this because when link got the master sword he was trapped in some place for 7 years and life went on with out him.

    1. While we'd like to include the time skip (and therefore older characters/partners), it would be a very large endeavor. Its too early to tell at this point if it will happen or not.

    1. This project is pretty big and if the last year is anything to go by I'm not so sure. We may have a ways to go yet, but I'm glad to hear you're looking forward to it!

  6. How's the Kokiri demo going along? Thanks for doing this for all of us. Not alot of people would put this much time and effort into something free.

    1. Appreciate the comment. It makes it that much harder to say this. You are too right about there not being very many people who would put this much time and effort into something for free. Its painful to say, but I feel we are pretty much dead at this point. There's nobody really left, and our programmer has been telling me there'll be a significant build update "tomorrow" for over half a year.
I've been letting people know our situation in the comments section for a while now, but I am very close to making it official with a post. I don't want to admit it, but we can't keep going on like this.

    2. I'm not going to say we're alive, but we're not dead. It's currently in a state of purgatory.

  7. Why not add some way for people to fund this? Cus I would.

    1. Thanks, I very much appreciate that sentiment. We've tossed the idea around, but the problem comes down to whether or not we could deliver. We're not the kind of people who would set up a patreon or some way to donate unless we felt like we're making strong progress and could follow through with at least a considerable portion of what we've envisioned (which would essentially mean that we should, at the very least, get to the point where we could release a solid demo).

It's a difficult thing to determine, because on the one hand donations could have a positive impact on motivation and getting talented people to join. But on the other, if things continue to go sour, we'd have not only let down those who've believed in us most, but taken their money as well.
