They're both going to be redone. I'm not too sure why he made it sound like Navi was being dropped completely, or why he only deleted Navi from the sidebar and not Link. He also wasn't too supportive of redoing all the character sprites, but I guess we'll see how this turns out.
I really don't see anything wrong with the artwork. To be honest I thought It was quite good. I guess the more experience you have with art, the more picky you get about it.
I don't see how it can be disliked to the extent that it is either, though I fully recognize there are issues that need to be ironed out. We'll see how redoing those two turns out and depending on the outcome, proceed from there.
